Hemp Extract: The BFF Way
The Blue Forest Farms team is committed to providing exceptional service and the highest quality CBD products to our customers. We pride ourselves on creating consistent, pure, compliant hemp extracts, and producing the best yields possible.
Much of this comes down to our hemp extraction process. The right hemp processing is what differentiates an okay product from an amazing one. And you should never settle for anything less than the highest-quality hemp seed oil and more when it comes to your wellness routine.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of excellence and transparency and have optimized every step of our hemp extraction process to ensure you’re receiving the best product possible. We practice in-house testing as well as certified third-party testing throughout the industrial hemp extraction process to ensure compliance and purity.
Ready to Get Started?Hemp Biomass Processing
If you’ve grown hemp, Blue Forest Farms can work with you to process your plants into bulk oil.
Hemp biomass processing allows you to extract and create products from hemp flowers, leaves, and stalks. When treated and dried correctly, you can ensure every part of your hemp plant is profitable, from seeds to stalk. Whether that’s extracting oil from hemp from the seeds to creating hemp fiber, biomass processing helps hemp farmers get the most from their plants.

What is Bulk CBD Isolate?
Isolate typically refers to CBD isolate, however, scientists have been able to isolate other cannabinoids like CBG and CBN. This means they contain a specific cannabinoid and that cannabinoid only. CBD isolate is typically 99+% pure, with absolutely no other cannabinoid terpenes.
Isolate is also unique in that it comes in a crystalline powder form. Because it contains no other compounds, isolates are a great option for those looking to create products in states where tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is totally illegal or for those looking to create extremely precisely dosed products.
What is Bulk CBD THC Free Distillate (Broad Spectrum)?
Scientists believe there are over 100 cannabinoids found in hemp. When talking about the “spectrum,” we’re referring to the spectrum of cannabinoids that will be present in the oil. THC free distillate contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids, except for THC.
THC free distillate extracts also typically retain the natural terpene profile of the plant, which offer their own benefits while creating an attractively flavored product. Because they contain multiple cannabinoids and terpenes, broad spectrum bulk oils allow consumers to experience the entourage effect– a theory that says the various compounds in hemp and marijuana work synergistically to produce unique effects.
How to Extract Oil from Hemp
The hemp extraction method you choose can have an effect on the potency and overall experience of your final product.
When it comes time to choose a hemp extraction method, you should consider the amount of hemp you have, your budget, and any time constraints. You should also have a clear idea of your goals, such as if you want a pure hemp oil extract or are more concerned with flavor or safety. Of course, you can also find a hemp extraction method that can accomplish multiple goals.

Hemp Extraction Methods
CO2 Extraction
CO2 extraction uses smaller amounts of hemp and filters plants through temperature and pressure-controlled chambers. Cannabinoids are isolated at a 90% efficiency. CO2 is non-toxic, meaning it will not leave any harmful residual solvents.
However, the predictable high purity level and speed at which this method is completed means it’s one of the more expensive routes to go. There may also be a lower yield of cannabidiol (CBD) than other methods.
Ethanol Extraction
Ethanol hemp extraction is a single-stream process that produces extracts under warm or cold conditions. It is cost-effective, safe, and creates high-quality products.
This method also results in a high yield of CBD per lb. of biomass. It’s ideal for creating CBD isolate or distillate, but should not be used to create full-spectrum products, essential oils, or waxes because it can affect the terpenes. And be mindful that this method requires an expert hand to work with the solvents safely.
Hydrocarbon Extraction
This method utilizes hydrocarbons, typically butane or propane, to strip cannabinoids from plant material, while preserving the plant’s terpenes and flavonoids. The result is a pure, aromatic, flavorful extract.
This is a complex process you should trust the experts to handle. It’s a quick extraction method that can yield potent products. While the equipment needed for this method can be costly, it’s often a good middle ground between CO2 extraction and ethanol hemp extraction.
Crude Hemp Oil Processing
Do you have crude oil and need help with the next steps? Blue Forest Farms can also take raw, crude hemp oil and process it into bulk CBD Isolate or bulk CBD THC free distillate.
